Description

Words Across America™ is a fun word and trivia game. Solve challenging puzzles to earn badges as you travel across the United States. Compete against other players to rise on the leader boards and win awards. The game provides entertainment for all ages and skills since it has a simple set of rules that makes it easy to learn, but there are many variations which make it hard to master.

The game's puzzles are the characters shown on license plates. The challenge is to think of an answer that includes the puzzle's characters in the same order. Puzzles have multiple possible answers, but some answers are better than others. The better the answer, the further a player travels.

The music trivia game lets you choose your favorite musical decade. Match each letter in the puzzle, in order, to the first letter of each word in a song title, album name or artist’s name. Earn higher trip scores by finding the name that matches the year(s) given by the numbers in the puzzle.

The family-run company that produced the game has a focus and commitment to protect people's privacy and respect their inbox. The company does not use tracking pixels, emails are always opt-in and no data will be shared with any third party companies.

The game offers some categories for free while others have free trial versions. Full access to all categories is a nominal one-time cost. Words Across America™ is streamlined for play on mobile devices and is available on Apple's App Store and on the Google Play Store.

History

Words Across America™ is the newest game from POMDP, Inc., the family-run development company for its sister game Plates Across America®. A license plate inspired word game had been a family developed idea for some time, but work on the travel-themed web-based games began in earnest in the Spring of 2019. After some moderate success with Plates Across America®, there was inspiration and ideas for a similar game but with a wider scope and broader appeal. Development on these ideas began in earnest in Ausgust 2023 leading to a Summer 2024 soft launch.
